The shear pin type weighing sensor is essentially a hollow circular
The pin shear-type load cell is essentially a hollow circular shaft that bears shear forces, with a double shear strain gauge adhered to the center of the groove in the central hole. There are two bridge measurement methods: the two double shear strain gauges at the grooves can form a Wheatstone bridge together, or they can each form a Wheatstone bridge and then be connected in parallel for measurement.
The pin shear-type load cell has the following characteristics:
1. The elastic element is a compact hollow circular shaft bridge structure, with a simple geometric shape that is easy to process to achieve high dimensional and positional accuracy;
2. The hollow section has strong resistance to torsion and bending, and the stress at the neutral axis of the pin is maximum; 3. When the hollow section pin bears vertical and horizontal bending, the section with zero bending moment is at the same cross-section;
4. When designing a pin-type load cell with a larger capacity, the central hole is also larger, allowing the double shear strain gauge to be adhered inside the hole, providing good protection while enabling vacuum sealing with inert gas;
5. It is easy to assemble with related load-bearing components and convenient to use. The disadvantage of the pin shear-type load cell is that the production process is complex and requires many specialized tools and equipment.
The pin shear-type load cell reflects the development direction of miniaturization, modularization, integration, and intelligence in electronic scales. It is another research hotspot following integrated weighing plates, weighing rails, and weighing beams. It has been mass-produced abroad and is widely used. The development and application trends of foreign pin shear-type load cells are worth studying and referencing for domestic load cell manufacturing enterprises. As long as individual manufacturing process issues are resolved, it is entirely possible to develop pin shear-type load cells and their electronic scales with characteristics suitable for China's industrial and mining enterprises.
